Officer & Advanced Programs
LDO — Cryptology (641X)
The Limited Duty Officer program allows highly qualified enlisted sailors to commission as officers. The 641X designator covers Cryptology/Information Warfare.
- E-6 to E-8 eligible (with exceptions)
- Strong FITREP and community recommendation required
- Remain in your warfare community
CWO — Cyber (782X)
Chief Warrant Officer 782X is the cyber technical specialist designator — ideal for CWTs who want to stay highly technical in an officer billet.
- E-5 to E-9 eligible
- Technical depth more heavily weighted than LDO
- Strong cert portfolio & NEC experience valued
SkillBridge Program
DoD SkillBridge allows servicemembers within 180 days of separation to work with approved industry partners — a direct path to civilian cyber roles.
- Continue receiving military pay & benefits
- Intern at defense contractors, tech firms, CISA, NSA
- Requires CO approval — apply 6–12 months out
